Dances

Author’s Note: Hello everyone! Welcome to my Dances Performances page. I started dancing back in middle school with breakdancing. I was not very good at breakdancing and thankfully, there’s only one video out there floating on the internet of my middle school performance back when I was part of Phusion Crew. I always enjoyed dancing but I was never really good at it. If anything, I just put the effort in and try my best which made it fun as it challenge me. I still suck at counting in dancing and just having great body control. But as long as it is fun, I think I will continue to do so throughout my life. I do want to give a huge shoutout to Momentum Dance Club at Chico State when I joined them in 2018 as they allowed me to explore my dancing in a welcoming and fun environment. I also met many new people and friends through this organization. Enjoy!

Fall 2018

Plug Walk + Light Up – Choreographed by Sidus

This was my second performance in Momentum. Unfortunately, I do not have a recording of my first performance with Momentum. Just know that I improved a lot as a dancer from my first performance to my second. If I remember correctly, the story Sidus wanted to convey was the usage of drugs and substances and we acted as the plugs? The bandanas represented the arm that would be used to intake the substance.

Spring 2019

Risen – Choreographed by Kyle

Hello everyone! This video is my performance in Momentum for our Spring 2019 Showcase. I was only in one piece which was Risen and my choreographer was Kyle. I never got a chance to ask Kyle what the overall meaning or message he wanted to convey in this dance was, It was fun and I enjoyed it although I still felt like I wasn’t very good.

Fall 2021

Come Meh Way – Choreographed by Ashliana

THE VIDEO IS COMING SOON! There are two parts to the video and I need to edit and combine them before I upload it onto Youtube. I couldn’t perform with Momentum in 2020 as that was the year Covid hit and made many things convert to online/virtual learning. So, I waited till the Fall semester of 2021 to rejoin. I can give y’all my thoughts on this piece. I was challenged a lot in this piece because this isn’t my normal style but I do feel like it helped improve my dancing not physically but mentally and counting as the song being used was difficult and different. This was a hybrid piece combining hip-hop and contemporary dance. My choreographer threw a lot of new things at me throughout the semester and I’m glad I was able to somewhat keep up with her requests. That’s also why I somehow ended up having to do a lift within the dance. Shoutout to GentlyG for being a great and easy partner to work with.
